Assemblies
At Linton Mead, school assemblies are a gathering of all or part of the school. It gives us a chance to celebrate achievements, perform songs and learn new values.
Reception children begin to come along to assemblies in the summer term. This helps prepare them for Year 1.
Monday - Singing assembly. We learn new songs and perform old songs. Did you know that singing does the following:
- Releases endorphins that make us feel happy and reduce stress
- Improves our breathing and posture
- Enhances our memory and cognitive function
- Creates a sense of community and belonging.
Tuesday - Years 1 - 3. We learn about British Values alongside Social & Emotional Aspects of Learning (SEAL).
Years 4 - 6 have their own classroom assemblies and often base these on Newsround.
Wednesday - Years 4 - 6. We learn about British Values alongside Social & Emotional Aspects of Learning.
Years 1 - 3 have their own classroom assemblies and often base these on Newsround.
Friday - Celebration assembly. We celebrate SEAL, Star and Reader of the Week. We also celebrate the winners of the attendance cup and classes with 100% punctuality.
